The Official Program: Corpus Christi & the Anniversary Celebrations of Cusco (first two weeks)
We’ve finally got the official schedule for Cusco’s Corpus Christi Festival and the first two weeks of Cusco’s anniversary month! It all starts with the official launch on Sunday, May 31st and is chock full of processions and parades. Sunday, May 31st
8am Official launch of the Cusco Jubilee 2015 celebrations with a ceremonial offering to the Pachamama (the Andean earth mother deity) and the entrance of the 4 suyus (the regions or corners of the Incan empire) in the Plaza de Armas of Cusco
Wednesday, June 3rd
9am Chiriuchu Food Fair in the Plaza San Francisco & pop-up seasonal fruit market in Plaza San Pedro
11am Presentation of the Corpus Christi altars and the traditional entrance of the saints of Corpus Christi in the Plaza de Armas (where Pirwa Posada del Corregidor is located- get a view of the events from its restaurant balcony!)
Thursday, June 4th
9am Chiriuchu Food Fair in the Plaza San Francisco (where Pirwa Colonial Hostel is located) & pop-up seasonal fruit market in Plaza San Pedro
10am Mass and the procession of the Holy Sacrament on its silver litter in the Plaza de Armas of Cusco
12pm Procession of the dozen saints of Corpus Christi around Plaza de Armas of Cusco
Friday, June 5th
8pm Parade of the traditional costumes of the 13 provinces of Cusco

11am Salute to Cusco Parade (by the Public Health Programs)
