Feedback & Upcoming Changes at Pirwa Colonial Hostel in Cusco

Pirwa Colonial Hostel in Cusco, PunoSometimes, online reviews can shock you, for good or ill. Lately, we’ve been thrilled at the positive response to Pirwa Colonial Hostel in Cusco, even on notoriously tough review sites like Tripadvisor.

Taína T, from Río de Janeiro, offered the latest review for Pirwa Colonial on March 26th, titled “The best hostel I stayed in Peru!” Reviews like this make us ecstatic!

Google-translated from the original Portuguese: “The place is very nice surpassing any expectations. Great location, right next to the main square, market, economic restaurants, meeting point for tours and bus stops. Even so it is very quiet compared to the noise and very safe. Stayed in double room with private bathroom, which quite liked the style but it was quite cold (especially the bed) and the heater did not work but nothing that rs despair and the wifi would not start; the shower had hot water so I was satisfied. I went through the dorms and had good looks and used one time shared bathroom that was very clean and tidy. The hostel has a games room, TV and restaurant with music and red light giving a pub air, kitchen released for use and external living areas all with great signal wi-fi and very comfortable. The service was perfect, very attentive and friendly, are present at all times. We need to be gone for 2 nights and we can leave our luggage in a small room suitable for this without extra cost and still let us bathe in the shared bathroom after checkout and stay there until the time we go to the left. The breakfast is great, has lockers, computer room and discounts on tours. SUPER recommend!!!”

There’s still further to go, however, as things can always improve. This month, Pirwa Colonial will be debuting some changes. First, there will be additional common areas- there are already two interior patios, a TV/movie lounge, a game room with billiards and darts, and a bar. Soon, there’ll be an additional game room/lounge for our guests use!

Also, the bar is moving to the first floor, making it more accessible but at the same time ensuring that it’s separated from guests’ rooms to avoid issues with noise.

Finally, we’ve received feedback regarding the desire for a larger, brighter kitchen- that will be changing too!

The hiring of a new events manager will have positive effects as well, because now that the low season has passed we can focus on offering bigger and better events, including movie nights, free walking tours, game nights, and occasional parties.

If you’ve stayed at any of our hostels, please help us in our quest to collect more feedback by posting about your experience on sites like Tripadvisor. Happy Travels from the Pirwa crew!
