Boleto turístico Cusco: What you can visit with this ticket
The city of Cusco offers you plenty of tourist attractions of which 14 have been cataloged as the most important and interesting to visit on your way through this city. These attractions are made up of archaeological centers and museums in and around the city that have been included within a single ticket called “Boletos turístico de Cusco” with which we can enter these places. This ticket is administered by COSITUC (an entity made up of the Municipality of Cusco, the Cusco Culture Directorate and the Cusco Tourism and Foreign Trade Directorate), which collects, administers and distributes all the resources generated by the sale of the ticket.
In order to visit the main tourist attractions you need to buy the ticket, there are two types of tickets which you can buy according to your time of stay in the city and the places you are interested in visiting. These tickets are called “General Tourist Ticket and Partial Tourist Ticket”.
The differences between these tourist tickets are the number of sites that you can visit and the duration of the ticket.
General Ticket: It serves to enter the 14 tourist attractions included and has a duration of 10 days. The price of this for foreign tourist is S/.130 soles and S /.70.00 soles for national tourists and for foreign students is S/.70.00 Soles, you must only present your student card and/or credential and be under 26 years old.
It includes the archaeological sites of Sacsayhuaman, Qenq’o, Puka Pukara, Tambomachay, Tipon, Pikillacta, Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Chinchero and museums such as: Regional Historical Museum (House of the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega), Museum of Contemporary Art, Museum of Site of Coricancha and the museum and monument to the Inca Pachacuteq.
Partial Ticket: With this we can access certain attractions grouped in different tourist circuits, this ticket is only valid for one day. The price is S /. 70.00 soles for foreign adults. If you accede to the purchase of the partial ticket you have the option to visit one of the following circuits:
- Circuit 1: Sacsayhuaman, Qenq’o, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay
- Circuit 2: Tipon, Pikillacta, Regional Historical Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art, Museum of Site of Qoricancha and Monument to the Inca Pachacuteq.
- Circuit 3: – Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Chinchero and Moray (Sacred Valley).
The tourist ticket can be purchased at Av. El Sol # 103 (Tourist Galleries of. 101) just a few steps from the city’s Plaza de Armas and at authorized tourist agencies (these add an additional cost for the purchase).
Due to the great variety of attractions included in the ticket, the tourist agencies offer different tours so that you can visit the great majority of tourist attractions. Tours such as the City Tour, the Sacred Valley Tour, South Valley and Maras and Moray are the most popular and you can also visit the vast majority of tourist attractions that includes our ticket.
You can visit them on your own as well but, comparing with the price and the services offered by the agencies it would be more expensive to be taking different cars to go to each archaeological center. With the travel agencies you’ll get professional tour guides included in the price, which is better.
