Come bartend at Pirwa Colonial Hostel in Cusco – Travel Cheap & Make Friends!
Pirwa Hostels has gone through a lot of changes in the last year. The upstairs game and TV room were completely redone and expanded, so that those who’d like to relax and play billiards, darts, table tennis, guitars, or table games, or just sit back on a bean bag and watch a movie, now have even more room to do so. The new look, a souvenir from some fellow backpackers, is more colorful and laid back. There’s still a fast food stand right by the game room where you can purchase pizzas or burgers, but the bar is no longer there and has moved to a new spot.
The bar was moved to the front of the hostel’s first floor in order to make it more accessible and to contain noise so that guests who’d rather sleep early won’t be bothered. As a bonus, the new bar has various rooms separated by arched doorways. This doesn’t just showcase some of the building’s colonial architectural details, it also allows for smoking and non-smoking sections and makes the space cozier. When the bar is full, there’s plenty of space in the adjoining patio to accomodate any one who’d like to drink, dance, and make friends.
Unfortunately, our current bartenders will be hitting the road soon, as they were backpacking volunteers. We’ll miss them, but this does mean that there are openings! We’re looking for 2 helpers for Pirwa Colonial’s bar. If you can pour drinks and are planning on spending at least two weeks in Cusco, we hope you’ll come lend a hand! Basically, if you work 7 days, you get lodging for an additional 2 days to accomodate your excursions. We especially like long-term volunteers, so if you’d like to stay several months we’d not only accept that but encourage it.
In return for shifts worked, you get a free bed in one of the shared dorms, breakfast, and a little money for lunch. If you’re interested, please send us your info and travel plans to reservaspirwa@gmail.com. We hope to hear from you.
